It is already difficult for any housewife to imagine cleaning without using this device. Machines do an excellent job with the accumulated dirt, and some models also help do wet cleaning.

An important part of the vacuum cleaner are filters that are responsible for the retention and collection of debris and dust. Like any thing, they tend to wear out, so each owner of such a device can decide to make a filter with their own hands. In modern models, their different types are used - from ordinary bags to specialized ones, with additional functions.

Some you can try to make at home. It will cost less than buying a finished filter in the store, and will last much longer.

Types of filters

There are several types of such collections:

  1. Membrane. Used in modern models very often. The cheapest way to eliminate dust. Membranes are a semi-permeable medium that allows water and oxygen to pass through it, but is capable of trapping impurities on the surface.

  2. Water. Pass air and dirt through a container with water, leaving all the harmful particles in the liquid, releasing unpolluted air to the outside.

  3. Cyclone. It is a cheaper filter compared to water and membrane, but not inferior in quality. Air passes with dust through a cylindrical body.

How to make a water filter for a vacuum cleaner

More often it is called aqua filter. Now such models are popular in the market of household appliances. Their secret is that they not only collect garbage, but also moisten the air without causing unpleasant odors. The only negative is the large weight of the vacuum cleaner due to the vessel with water inside, but it is compensated by the good quality of cleaning.

The principle of its operation is very simple. All the garbage with the help of the engine is in the compartment with water, which then needs to be drained.

How to make a filter of this type? Quite simply, if you have all the necessary details and scheme of work.

You will need a separator, a container for water, a fan and a pump. The smaller the fan you pick up, the less noise it will have. When choosing a pump, consider that the water level in the vessel will rise by almost a centimeter. Choose all fasteners with zinc coating. Do not forget about the built-in turbo brush, it will help to thoroughly clean the carpets. To get a good result, work in stages:

  1. Install the hood, hopper and baking powder on the dust collector.
  2. Attach the pump with a rubber ring. Watch for gaps between body parts.
  3. To keep the vacuum cleaner as silent as possible, stick polyethylene on the bottom.
  4. Before use, pour water strictly according to the marks on the container.

There are others ways to create an aqua filter. Maximum efforts and desires - and you will do a quality job that will benefit long enough.

Cyclone filter for vacuum cleaner do it yourself

Cyclone filter Remains popular for over 30 years. The advantage is the absence of dust bags, while it is virtually silent and compact.He is also much lighter than his "water" fellows. But the disadvantage is that it is quite difficult to clean this filter.

This model is used both for house cleaning and in construction. Sawdust, chips, large debris will not be a problem for the device. The secret of power lies in the scheme of his work.

Cyclone Vacuum Cleaner

Dirt under the influence of centrifugal force begins to move in a spiral, which causes large debris to fall into the external chamber, and leave small dust inside. As a result, the vacuum cleaner will not pollute the air.

There are 2 ways to collect a cyclone filter.

Assembly method number 1

You will need:

  • plumbing pipe - 1 m;
  • five-liter bucket with a tight lid;
  • polypropylene knee (angles - 45 and 90 degrees) to create brackets;
  • corrugated pipe - 2 m;
  • nylon stocking;
  • sealed glue;
  • plywood.

Completing of the work.

Attach a bracket to the lid of the bucket (make up from steel strips) for the air filter. Watch for the density of its contiguity, so that the polluted air will not penetrate into the exhaust pipe.

From above firmly attach the outlet tube. Through it the air flow will pass into the vacuum cleaner.Leave the membrane from the vacuum cleaner, it will help save the fan from heavy pollution. Around the filter, put a bump stop for garbage (made from tin with galvanized coating). Stretch nylon stocking, it will protect against the ingress of small debris. Next, place the corrugated tube on the side wall and tilt towards the bottom. Strengthen the walls of the bucket with a steel strip.

Tip: instead of a bucket, use a plastic barrel or a tin vessel.

When processing all seams, use a sealed adhesive.

Assembly method number 2

You will need:

  • road cone (can be purchased at the car shop);
  • dense plastic container with an airtight lid;
  • 2 corrugated pipes - 2 m;
  • nuts and washers - 8-10 mm;
  • 2 rods (length - 2 m, width - 8 mm).

Completing of the work.

As a container for collecting dust, we use a plastic jar with thick walls and a tight lid. This is important so that there are no leaks that can later have a bad effect on the performance of the vacuum cleaner.

Cut off the bottom of the road cone and cut a plywood cover in the hole. We insert a corrugated pipe into it (ordinary plastic can be used), which should be lowered to the middle of the cone, otherwise a lot of garbage will get into it.

The upper part of the cone tightly set in a plywood circle connected to the lid of the container for garbage. We attach a pipe to the upper section, into which air with dust and dirt will enter.

We proceed to the connection of the filter with a vacuum cleaner.

We connect the outlet pipe to the inlet of the vacuum cleaner with a hose, and attach a hose to the receiving pipe that collects debris.

Tip: if you do not find a road cone, make it yourself, cutting out of sheet metal or an old galvanized bucket. Instead of the cone shape, you can use a cylinder (polyethylene pipe).

After spending a couple of evenings and a bit of energy, you can turn your regular vacuum cleaner into a more modern version of it, thus providing your household with reliable tools and making life easier for the housewife. If desired, the apparatus can have more than one filter. The main thing is to use materials that do not require large expenditures, and follow the instructions given. In any case, if it does not work out for the first time, in the second one it will turn out exactly.
