What can glue leaking electric kettle

In the modern world, the electric kettle has long become an indispensable household appliance. He deserved his popularity by independent switching off during boiling and high speed of water heating. However, like any kitchen assistant, he has a tendency to breakdowns. Over time, the electric kettle of any firm flows - this is due to the natural material wearfrom which it was made. Leakage is dangerous not only by the constant formation of puddles around the device, but also by the possibility of electric shock. In this regard, the question arises, what can be sealed with an electric kettle before buying a new one, because it carries a danger to users.

 The kettle is leaking

Plastic kettles

If a plastic electric kettle is flowing, it is quite possible to fix it and correct the situation. Depending on the models and features of their design, a flow can form:

  • at measuring glassdesigned to control fluid filling;
  • directly in wall of the kettle;

Let's start with a simple case: the usual single-layer measuring glass is easy to fix - especially for such cases, hot-melt glue was invented.

The special substance, also called liquid nails, is sold in the form of solid transparent cylinders. It has special properties that provide ample opportunities for repair work. Very strong and durable, this glue, among other things, perfectly clings to plastic.

 Liquid Nails

To apply hot melt to the surface, you will need an additional tool - a glue gun.

What do we have to do:

  • insert the hot melt cylinder into the gun and wait until it heats up;
  • gently apply a layer of substance to the crack;
  • spread the glue in a thin layer over the surface;
  • wait until it freezes.

 Glue gun

After drying, the glue reliably seals the flowing kettle. The substance withstands temperature fluctuations, is sufficiently elastic to resist ruptures, and is not toxic.

This method is suitable not only for fixing glass, but also for the walls of the kettle.

Another repair method is much cheaper.Noticing that the kettle is dripping, go to the store for cold welding.

 Cold welding

Similar to the properties of hot melt, it does not require special tools and can be applied using a dispenser included in the package with the purchase. Apply a uniform layer of welding to the crack and wait for it to dry.

Before plugging in the device, check it for leaks. Dial cold water and carefully inspect the patch. If drops appeared on the surface of the glue, then the sealant did not set well enough with the surface. Dry the device and apply an additional layer of the substance.

Glass teapot

Plastics may have an unpleasant smell or a repulsive appearance, so the glass electric kettle is becoming increasingly popular. Made from an environmentally friendly substance, it will safely serve you for many years. However, it is much more difficult to eliminate cracks in this material. What to do if a glass teapot drip? Most modern glass models are supplied spare flasks. If you notice a leak, immediately replace the defective part.

If you didn’t pack your kettle with an extra bulb, ask your supplier,can I buy it separately.

Of course, to keep the kettle from flowing, you can try to seal the crack with hot melt. But experts strongly recommend not to engage in experiments. Features of glass complicate the repair process, because of the temperature drops the crack will only expand.

Conclusion

Now you know what to do to keep the kettle from flowing. The above methods are simple and should not cause difficulties for any person. However, according to the professionals, electric kettles are not fully repairable. A sealant patch is just temporary measurethat allows you to gain time before buying a new device.

Remember: you cannot use unreliable materials such as electrical tape or scotch tape for repairs.

What nafig hot melt glue? Are you out of your mind? Is it because it is THERMOSTICK that it softens with each heating? It is not suitable for repairing a kettle, as the kettle in its work is heated to the softening temperature of hot melt! This is insanity! And no one in their right mind calls hot melt glue with liquid nails! Where did you get this from? And the toxicity of liquid welding in the repair of the device in which water is boiled, too, did not embarrass anyone?
