Levitation of objects becomes reality

For decades, specialists around the world have been trying to create realistic levitation technology. However, so far none of the proposed concepts work effectively. Meanwhile, the invention of an effective way would not only create new versions of vehicles, but also completely change the world around us. Scientists from the UK presented a new version of technology, bringing humanity closer to the transport of the future.

A technology called SoundBender is a system that generates ultrasonic waves that can bypass obstacles. The hybrid interface combines versatile grilles and high-precision acoustic materials. The model allows you to eliminate the limitations of audio streams, while managing the most accurately and efficiently.

Special metamaterials create a high-resolution acoustic field, and the necessary amplitude that controls the distribution of the audio stream is provided by phased arrays. The new technology works with both solid and liquid bodies, moreover, it allows you to control the spread of odors.

The only serious disadvantage of the development at the moment is its inability to overcome major obstacles: the technology copes with only small obstacles on the way.

Specialists are set to seriously continue the work on the project, therefore, most likely, this deficiency will soon be eliminated. At the same time, SoundBender technology can already be used to create board games and organize interactive exhibitions.
