Soviet camera "Zenit" returns to the market

The head of the department for the development of civil engineering instrumentation at Shvabe JSC, I.Sergeyev, announced the launch of the production of new cameras of the famous Zenit brand. Serial production is planned to be carried out already in 2018 at the Zverev plant in the city of Krasnogorsk.

The process will involve one of the world's leading companies engaged in the production of optical technology, which will be in charge of issues related to the supply of cameras with appropriate electronics. The Krasnogorsk plant, in turn, will serve as the basis for the production of spare parts for the optical component of the product. Many spare parts will be purchased abroad.

According to the project manager, the main task is to create a qualitatively new, functional and modern device, while maintaining brand awareness. The fact is that at one time the camera "Zenith" was extremely popular and in demand both in Russia and abroad. The creators intend to keep the old contours, lines of the camera and ergonomics, significantly updating the “bot” of the camera.

The new full-frame non-specular camera "Zenith" will be made in two colors - dark and light. The exact cost of the device is not yet known, however, it will definitely exceed the price of most popular smartphones, including those from the IPhone series.

Manufacturers intend to literally revive the brand "Zenith" and bring new devices to the world market. At the same time, the task to enter into competition with the existing models is not set, it is expected that Zenit will become a fundamentally new product,the quality guarantee of which will be the name of the brand, which proved itself only from the best side in Soviet times.
