In South Korea, there was a special area for testing "UAVs"

It became known that in South Korea, the first line of the test site for unmanned vehicles was opened.

The area is almost 324 thousand square meters. m received the name "K-City". It is located 30 km from the capital of South Korea, Seoul. On the territory it is planned to build houses, build roads, and recreate a full-fledged urban infrastructure. The construction of the landfill is carried out in several stages. By now, the first stage has been completed - the road has been built in 4 lanes. Full completion is expected by the end of next year.

 City plan

The South Korean government places serious hopes on the test site, it is expected that it will significantly speed up the process of introducing unmanned vehicles into everyday life and increase its efficiency.

The authorities hope that the so-called commercial availability of unmanned vehicles in Korea will acquire in 3 years.

A similar site already exists in the United States - it is organized in the desert areas of California and has an area of more than 400 thousand square meters. Another similar landfill is scheduled to open in the US in a month - it will be located on the territory of one of the General Motors plants.

Specialized areas for testing "UAVs" help objectively assess all the difficulties faced by such transport in conditions as close as possible to real ones. This is necessary because the work of cars without drivers must be configured so that any even the most unusual situations on the roads do not increase the level of their potential danger to people and objects. Only in this case, transport can be released on public roads.
