Very soon electric planes will appear in the sky.

EasyJet starts developing an electric aircraft. Recently, this was announced by representatives of the low-cost airline. The project will be implemented jointly with the American startup company Wright Electric.

Initially, such an aircraft will carry out short flights between cities located at a relatively short distance from each other. Experts from both investors claim that the first launch of the aircraft will be possible in the next 10 years.

Jeffrey Engler, founder of Wright Electric, assessed the potential market for a new invention. at 26 billion dollars. This amount includes all short flights currently carried out by leading airlines. At the moment it is about 30% of the cost of all flights.

In addition to the obvious reduction in aviation fuel costs, the use of electric airplanes will significantly reduce the noise level, as well as prevent carbon dioxide emissions that are inevitable when using traditional aircraft.

Wright Electric has already announced in March of its plans to develop a Wright One aircraft, also running on electricity. The plane will be able to fly a distance of up to 500 km and carry up to 150 passengers. A joint project with EasyJet is the company's next step in the field of innovative aircraft manufacturing.
