Norway plans to abandon traditional aircraft

The Norwegian government plans to switch to the use of electric airplanes within 20 years. All short flights will be carried out with electric aircraft. This was announced by the head of airports in Norway Dag Falk-Petersen.

The transition will not be spontaneous and simultaneous. The first will begin the test tests of hybrid engines that can use different types of fuel. In 2025-2026, it is planned to launch the first passenger electro-airplane. He will make short flights and carry up to 20 passengers.

In the process of a smooth transition, specialists will study all the details of the behavior of the machines in the air and on the ground, the difficulties that the pilots will have to face. If necessary, adjustments will be made to the design of the aircraft. And only after this, the authorities will gradually begin to impose restrictions on the use of vessels with traditional fuel.

The authors of the idea have no doubt that in the future mankind will have no choice, and all companies will be forced to reorient production to the production of environmentally friendly modes of transport.

The complex environmental situation associated with the greenhouse effect is worsening every year. The governments of most developed countries are already “transplanting” the population into electric transport. Regarding the ban on the use of gasoline and diesel cars, relevant laws are already being passed, which will be enacted in the coming years. Air transport is next in line.

The difficulties that slow down the process of transferring airlines to electric models are associated with the lack of engines capable of lifting into the air a vessel with 20-30 passengers on board. It is expected that such engines will appear no earlier than 2040. It is possible that the era of electrically-powered air vehicles will start from this very moment.
