Where to pour the powder to wash without problems

Even experienced owners of washing machines often make mistakes in its operation. It would seem that the simple question of where to pour powder and other detergents in a washing machine often causes difficulties. However, illiterate consumption and improper use of detergents lead to undesirable consequences.

Powder trays

All models are modern washing machines equipped with a pull-out tray where the powder, bleach or other detergent composition is loaded. Location depends on the type of washing machine.

  1. Powder tray in the washing machine horizontal loading located above, directly above the hatch for loading laundry.
  2. In those units where vertical loadingThe tray is located on the inside of the door or directly on its lid.

The design of the tray itself has 3 cells or compartment. Many owners of washing machines do not know exactly what product this or that compartment is intended for, and as a result they make mistakes at the very first stage of washing.

  1. The tiniest compartment. It is usually marked with a specific symbol ("snowflake", "asterisk" or "flower") and is suitable for softening agents, for example, rinses and various air conditioners with antistatic effect.
  2. The next compartment - the middle one - is used in those cases if the mode of preliminary or delicate washing is determined. Here we send the funds necessary for soaking the laundry.
  3. The largest compartment, where the powder is sent (as well as any other means) for the main wash.

Sometimes manufacturers make the last two compartments of the same size, but they are labeled either with Roman numerals (I and II) or with letter symbols (A and B). If the marking of the compartments is absent or erased after a long-term operation of the household appliance, you can check for what this or that cell is necessary by using the following method. Turn on the “washer” without putting laundry into the drum, and select the mode without prewash.Do not push the container intended for washing powder to the end, but leave it ajar and watch into which compartment the water begins to flow. This compartment is used for the main wash; in the future, you need to pour the powder or pour liquid gel formulations into it.

If you use semi-automatic machine, then there is simply no tray directly for loading the powder.

Instead, take the usual powder and pour it straight. in the tank for washing linen. Remember that it is not recommended to take powder for automatic cars: it foams a little and in a semiautomatic machine stretches your clothes worse.

The algorithm for loading powder into the washing machine

If you have to work with the machine you just bought, carefully read the instructions that come with it. Next you will do the following:

    1. Connect the device to the power supply.
    2. Open the water access to the machine by turning the tap.
    3. Set the desired program.
    4. After selecting the cycle, pour the powder or other necessary product into the appropriate compartment of the tray. The fabric softener can be added in the process - before the start of the rinse stage.

Useful information: the powder can be poured directly into the drum. Manufacturers of some brands of detergents even strongly recommend to do this, because this is how the machine works faster and the quality of washing improves markedly.

When filling directly into the drum consumes less powder. And means in the form of capsules and pressed cubes are not recommended to be put in the tray at all. There is another reason: if your machine has served a considerable period of time, then over time, the powder from the tray will not be completely washed out, a mold will start to form in it, which will become a source unpleasant smell. Then loading directly into the drum unit will be the best solution.

Variety of detergents

Summarizing, we can distinguish several types of funds that are most often used by experienced housewives.

  1. Powders. Used most often. Fill up only in the corresponding compartment of the tray. So the granules of powder will dissolve better, and if the machine gets into the drum they will not leave ugly stains on clothes.
  2. Liquid detergents - gels, rinses, stain removers, softeners.
  3. Means made in the format of tablets, pressed cubes and capsules.Attention: these funds are loaded directly into the drum of the washing machine. The fact is that they do not have time to dissolve and wash out of the compartments of the tray, therefore, the necessary amount of foam is not formed.

 Capsule Cleanser

For automatic washing machines, it is best to use powders that form less foam (there is usually an “automatic” label on the packages of such products).

Sometimes the foam is too much, and in the process of washing it is not washed out to the end. This is fraught with the appearance of white stains on clothes after drying. Therefore it is important to calculate exact amount of powder for the amount of linen that you decide to send to the drum machine. Usually the rate is 1 tbsp. spoon of powder per 1 kg of linen taken. Recommended consumption of detergent should be indicated on the package. However, it should be borne in mind that many manufacturers indicate it in order to maximize the consumption of products. overestimated volume.

And finally: do not forget that the tray or container, where we pour the powder, you need to regularly (for example, once a month) clean it from lime or rinse residue. You can read about how to do it correctly. here. After all, if the container is clogged, the rest of the equipment can fail, and it will be much more difficult to repair it.
