Which model to give preference when choosing a street heater

If you want to enjoy the fresh air, but its temperature outside is not high enough - it does not matter. The street heater is invented specifically to make a person feel comfortable under the open sky and in any weather.

The units are able to increase the temperature around them. to 10 0C, thanks to which it is possible to make any leisure place cozy. Often, such devices are installed in country houses, terraces, picnics, backyards, gazebos and other open areas.

Types of heaters

In Europe, street heaters have been used for quite some time, and the domestic market also appreciated them. The main problem is only to choose the right option for you.

 The use of outdoor heater

Often these units work on the basis of infrared radiation. The energy emanating from them is identical to the action of the sun's rays: first, objects are heated, and only then is the air, by heat transfer from them. This type of heater is often used in street cafes and other similar establishments.

Street heaters, depending on the device, can work for:

  • liquid fuels;
  • solid fuels;
  • electricity;
  • gas.

The most popular are the last two species, and they will be discussed.

Electric models

The source of heat in such street heaters is electrical energy. Compared to gas models, the heat from such devices is obtained softer. The filament spool can heat up to 900 degrees, and the IR rays are scattered evenly - through a reflector.

Electric models can be of 3 types:

Less expensive are heaters with a quartz vacuum tube. They have the shortest operational life and can be used only in open areas.

Electrical units are about 8 times more economical and as many times more efficient.If the initial air temperature is equal to five degrees, then the heater will be able to maintain around itself the temperature 15 positions higher. However, such units are not very popular in comparison with gas analogues. This is due to the difficulties associated with their mobility, as well as dubious security.

Street gas

The gas unit generates infrared radiation due to the energy emitted from the combustible gas. They have a gas cylinder. From it, the fuel enters the burner. The flame lights up when you press one button. The gas heats up the grid, from where infrared rays begin to come in and scatter from the reflector.

If the air temperature is at least 10 degrees Celsius, then gas heater able to increase to its 25.

The capacity of the container is on average about 30 liters. One gas station is able to heat the arbor continuously throughout the day.

What to look for when buying

Those who decide to acquire street heaters should first determine the device parameters:

  1. Power. For heating the plot up to 8 meters in diameter, an aggregate of 12 kW of power is sufficient. The higher this figure, the higher will be the cost of the device.Calculation of power must be done at the rate of: 5 square meters per 1 kW. For territories larger than 80 square meters, it is necessary to purchase several units.
  2. Body materials. It is best to choose heaters made of stainless steel, but there are also options from ordinary metal coated. Despite the fact that manufacturers claim their high quality, after all, from a long stay in the rain, corrosion may appear on the metal case.
  3. Security systems. Absolutely any model has an emergency shutdown system. In gas models, in case of fire attenuation, the gas supply is automatically shut off. It is better to choose heaters with built-in angle sensors. The reflector should be removable, and the bottom as wide as possible - for greater stability.
  4. Design and construction parameters. As for the choice of heater in its appearance, it all depends on the taste of the buyer. Units can be both floor-standing and wall-mounted, or even integrated into a table or seating.
  5. Type of fuel. The choice is made of 4 types: solid or liquid fuel, gas or electricity.The latter are considered the most convenient, as they do not emit any harmful substances. Gas models are much more powerful. Units operating on solid energy carrier do not have any complicated electronic circuits, which is why they are the cheapest. The models working on liquid fuel are often integrated into the stove, so you can not only warm the space, but also make snacks, which is very convenient for a picnic.

Gas or electricity?

And yet, which model to choose? Naturally, it all depends on the specific requirements of each individual consumer, but still the most popular are gas and electric models. Each of them has its advantages and disadvantages.

Electric models are more efficient, while gas models are more economical. The latter, cheaper by an average of 30%. And, if you heat a large area, the savings will be more than palpable. But if access to electricity is always open, it is best to choose the electric option.
